Running keeps me balanced and leaves me feeling grounded, even after not so great runs. I didn’t expect to also make the closest friends through running, both in the GG and people in my life who have now also caught “the running bug,” but I am SO glad that I did. “
Meet Sierra, the youngest dynamo in our running crew—and if you ever need a shot of pure spunk, she’s your go-to gal. When she’s not schooling the next generation of musical prodigies as a band teacher (marching band formations, anyone?), she’s out there running, biking, and swimming her way through life. This girl’s got energy for days, probably because she’s decades younger than most of us—but we’ll let her have that advantage. 🙃🎉
Sierra doesn’t just crush band practice; she recently took on the Chicago Marathon and obliterated it. Yeah, she just went and ran 26.2 miles like it was a Tuesday morning jog. 🏅Now, she’s dipped her toes into the triathlon world and is proving that nothing is impossible when you’re fueled by that much enthusiasm—and probably a lot of caffeine. ☕🚴♀️
But don’t let her superhuman energy fool you; Sierra is relatable too. She has an undying love for hot dogs and was absolutely crushed when her favorite local hot dog joint shut down. We didn’t have the heart to tell her it was likely because of health code violations, but hey, you can’t blame a girl for loving a good glizzy. 🌭💔
And as if that wasn’t enough, Sierra’s now a newlywed, juggling her life between teaching band, and crushing marathons. If she can conquer all that, I’m pretty sure she could do a marathon, a triathlon, and a full-on marching band routine all at once. 🏅👰
We’re all working on convincing her to let us design a cool marching band formation with a shout-out to GG. Maybe a giant “GG” with a hotdog in the middle? We’ll see if she goes for it. 🤷♀️
